SWMS Toolbox ...the KBE-Solution for CATIA V5
SWMS Systemtechnik Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH is going to display the SWMS Toolbox software for CATIA V5 at the EuroMold Exhibition in Frankfurt/Main between 01.12. - 04.12.2004. The SWMS Toolbox will enable a simple way of design, standardize work and allows lead-time and cost reduction. The Manufacturer and supplier uses now the CAD/CAM System CATIA V5. The System allows effective Knowledge Based Engineering (KBE) and uses the same rules in design development. Therefore it does not take into account the DIN standard, but also the design guidelines of the manufacturer, supplier and engineering companies. The procedure saves work time and secures a quality standard. It is possible to design step by step without reducing the design freedom. The purpose of this is that the designer can retain his own way of working and can decide himself, whether visual or constructional aspects have priority. The usability is increased in order that the user can orientate himself through the structured forms. The software products are based on the plug-in concept, the stand-alone workbenches for various cases of application. It was important to build a flexible architecture to enlarge the system through additional modules. KBE is based on the use of digital media and describes the reuse of knowledge eg. ISO standards. Despite the use of CAx technologies in the development process, the KBE Methods are more superior.
